Belarus is building military infrastructure near the border with Ukraine – Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Belarus, under the influence of Russia, is building military infrastructure near the Ukrainian border. According to him, Minsk has already received a signal from Ukraine about the need to stop such actions.

As Zelensky said, the acting head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleh Luhovsky, reported on the situation.

According to the president, Belarus is implementing measures to prepare for a possible expansion of aggression against Ukraine under the obvious influence of Russia.

Zelensky noted that construction of roads, as well as bases for storing ammunition and fuels and lubricants, is being completed near the Ukrainian border.

“They have no other meaning than military,” the head of state emphasized.

According to him, work is underway on the Kobryn – Kovel, Ivanovo – Manevichi, Lunynets – Sarny, Rechitsa – Korosten and Gomel – Chernihiv directions.

The President also stated that Ukraine has information according to which Russian documents consider these projects in the context of the so-called “SVO”.

Zelensky added that Kyiv has already sent signals to Belarus regarding these activities and other forms of cooperation with Russia that could lead to a prolongation or expansion of the war.

“Belarus knows what steps are needed on its part for peace. The development of the border infrastructure of aggression by Belarus must be stopped,” the president emphasized.

Earlier, it was reported that the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he had recently met with representatives of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky . According to him, through them he conveyed to the Ukrainian leader a call to “negotiate” and not “get heated.”

Recall that Russia may try to use the collective security treaty of the Union State to drag Belarus into the war and use its human and training resources.
