Large-scale military exercises involving the Western Operational Command have begun in Belarus. The exercises will last until March 25 and are accompanied by the movement of heavy equipment towards the Polish border.
This is reported by BelTA.
The exercises are led by the Chief of the General Staff of Belarus, Major General Pavel Muraveyko. The main actions take place at training grounds in the Brest and Minsk regions, near the borders of Ukraine and NATO countries.
The Belarusian Defense Ministry says the maneuvers are defensive in nature and aimed at testing the army’s combat readiness. At the same time, analysts have noted an increased movement of military resources towards Poland over the past week.
During the exercises, the military actively uses drones for reconnaissance and strikes, practices the operation of electronic warfare equipment, and conducts long-range shooting.
A separate phase involves the actions of mechanized and tank units to detect sabotage and reconnaissance groups, as well as the construction of defensive lines with the involvement of local industry.
It was previously reported that in the western regions of Belarus, men are massively receiving summonses for unscheduled military service . Active discussion and a wave of concern have arisen on social networks.
Recall that in Belarus, at the former military airfield Krychev-6, the active deployment of a military base is underway.
