Andriy Beletsky will lead the new “Center” group of forces, which will be responsible for the defense of most of the Donbas. He will also continue to command the Third Army Corps.
Deputy Commander of the Third Army Corps Rodion Kudryashov reported this in a comment to LIGA.net.
According to him, Beletsky, in parallel with the corps command, will form a new temporary military command body. Its area of responsibility will cover most of the Donetsk region.
The creation of two new groups to strengthen the defense of Donbas was announced back in late August. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy then announced the two updated troop groups, to be led by Andriy Beletsky and Denys Prokopenko, commander of the 1st Azov National Guard Corps.
Previously, “Pryamiy” reported on changes in troop command in the Donetsk region . Specifically, it was reported that Beletsky would be in charge of the Limansk sector and the Kramatorsk-Konstantinovsk agglomeration, while Prokopenko would be responsible for Dobropillia and the areas southwest of the city.
It has now become known that the temporary military command body under the command of Beletsky will be called the “Center” group of forces.
In March 2025, the Third Separate Assault Brigade was deployed into the Third Army Corps, led by Andrei Beletsky.
As reported, units of the Third Army Corps are fighting, in particular, in the Liman direction. Biletsky previously spoke about the situation on the approaches to Liman.
