Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevheniy Khmara held a conversation with Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken. The parties identified defense priorities until the end of 2026 and discussed further support for Ukraine in 2027.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Khmara thanked Belgium for the €1 billion in defense assistance it provided to Ukraine this year. He said this support is already helping to strengthen the Defense Forces on the battlefield.

Separately, the ministers discussed expanding cooperation in the field of drones and joint industrial projects. Ukraine is interested in developing these areas to strengthen its own defense capabilities and those of its allies.

Khmara also noted Belgium’s assistance in repairing F-16 aircraft and supplying spare parts for them.

In addition, Ukraine is counting on additional ammunition for the F-16, in particular to combat jet drones.

The Minister thanked Belgium for its support and willingness to continue defense cooperation with Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Russia had shown off a modernized BM-35 attack drone with a jet engine. Russian propagandists claim that it can reach speeds of over 350 km/h and cover a range of over 200 km.
