Berinchyk returns after a year and a half hiatus: where and when to watch the fight against Nokes
Ukrainian boxer Denys Berinchyk will return to the professional ring on August 29 after a break of over 1.5 years. His opponent in London will be Briton Sam Noakes, and the WBO International title will be at stake.
This is reported by Sport 24 .
The Berinchyk – Noakes fight will take place as part of a boxing evening in London, the main event of which will be the fight between Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgovich. The broadcast in Ukraine will be available on the MEGOGO media service with an appropriate subscription.
The boxing evening will start at 19:00 Kyiv time, and Denys Berinchyk is expected to enter the ring around 23:00 . The main fight of the show, featuring Itauma and Hrgovich, is scheduled to start around 00:00 on the night of August 30.
For Berinchyk, this will be the first professional fight since February 14, 2025. Then the Ukrainian suffered the first defeat in his career, losing to Keyshawn Davis by knockout in the 4th round. After the fight, it became known that Berinchyk had a torn labrum, due to which he was unable to conduct full training. Subsequently, the boxer underwent surgery on his nose, and in May 2025 he underwent surgery on his shoulder.
Berinchyk’s current professional boxing record is 19 wins and 1 loss , 9 of which were by knockout. The 38-year-old Ukrainian is a silver medalist at the 2012 Olympics.
His opponent will be 29-year-old Sam Noakes from Great Britain. The Briton has 18 wins in 19 professional fights, 16 of them by knockout. His last fight took place on May 3, 2026, when Noakes defeated Benito Sanchez Garcia by technical knockout in the 2nd round. Noakes’ only defeat occurred on November 22, 2025, in a fight against American Abdula Mason.
The fight against Berinchyk could be a serious test for Noakes, as the Ukrainian has significant amateur experience and is able to change the pace and rhythm of the fight. At the same time, the Briton’s advantage is called his younger age and powerful punch. Noakes traditionally relies on power pressure and serial work, while Berinchyk is known for his high pace, unconventional fighting style and ability to adapt to the opponent.
The WBO International title will be at stake in the fight. Berinchik vacated this belt on the eve of the world title fight against Emanuel Navarrete. Bookmakers consider Noakes the favorite of the confrontation . They most evaluate his chances of winning early, although the option of the fight going more than 8.5 rounds is also being considered.
For Berinchyk, the fight will be a return to the ring after the longest break in his professional career and the first opportunity to fight after his debut defeat.
