Billions for content: how the 2026 budget was adjusted to fit Mindich-Yermak’s schemes

The adopted State Budget for 2026 is a tool for “a frankly cynical and corrupt waste of public funds,” which will go to the production of TV series and content for media groups associated, in particular, with the “Mindich-Yermak clan.”
This assessment of the country’s main budget was voiced on the air of “Pryamoy” by Pavlo Rozenko, an expert on social and economic policy.
He claims that while the authorities claim there is no money to increase the financial support for military personnel, billions of hryvnias are being directed to media projects that he considers corrupt.
“That is, 5.5 billion is again being thrown into the completely corrupt scheme of a single telethon. You have 5.5 billion for content production, but you have no money to increase the financial support of military personnel,” Rozenko expressed indignation.
He clarified that 1.5 billion hryvnias are earmarked for financing a national telethon, which involves “oligarchic channels” and, according to him, a channel belonging to the “pro-Russian OPZH.”
In addition, the studio guest drew attention to a new item of expenditure of 4 billion hryvnias for “strategic communications.” Rozenko expressed his belief that these funds will go to the production of series and content for the same media groups associated, in particular, with the “Mindich-Yermak clan,” which is a continuation of corrupt practices.
Rozenko emphasized that despite the investigations by the NABU and SAPO, which exposed large-scale corruption schemes, nothing has changed in the budget.
We remind you that on December 3, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported the draft State Budget for 2026 as a whole. In total, 257 people’s deputies voted “for”. “European Solidarity” and “Batkivshchyna” did not cast a single vote.
At the same time, European Solidarity called on the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to veto the 2026 State Budget, approved by a single majority. The faction is convinced that it is necessary to clean it of corruption expenses and direct funds to defense and the social sphere.
In turn, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, stated that the allocation of funds to the “United News” telethon and the “1000 Hours of Ukrainian Content” initiative is supposedly justified . In his opinion, the effectiveness of the program will be visible in the process of its implementation.
