Billions for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: what the allies decided at Ramstein
Partner countries announced new military assistance packages to Ukraine during a meeting of the Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
A significant part of the contributions was directed by the partners to the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism, as well as to strengthening air defense, developing drone capabilities, and providing ammunition.
Germany has allocated $4 billion to strengthen air defense and another $600 million to develop deep-strike and mid-strike capabilities. Separately, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius initiated an urgent strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense – partners have already attracted 2 billion euros.
The UK has announced the largest drone aid package this year, while the Netherlands has allocated €248 million for drones.
Norway has allocated $560 million for basic drone support for the brigades and another $150 million for the development of a logistics hub. The country has also contributed to PURL.
Spain has allocated 215 million euros to the SAFE program and will transfer missiles to Patriot systems.
Belgium is providing €75 million to the “Czech initiative”, another €75 million to the German air defense initiative and €85 million to the drone coalition. It also supports the F-16 program and is increasing sanctions pressure on the Russian shadow fleet.
Canada has allocated $15 million to the NSATU fund, $42 million to the “Czech initiative,” and $17 million for critical engineering equipment.
Luxembourg allocated $29 million to PURL, including for financing international funds and direct arms purchases.
Lithuania has provided $39 million to the “Czech initiative” and $29 million to PURL, and is also assisting with the purchase of armored vehicles and supporting the rehabilitation of veterans.
Estonia has allocated $13 million to PURL.
Ukraine thanked all participants in the Ramstein format for their consistent support. The Ministry of Defense separately noted the role of the United Kingdom and Germany in organizing the meeting, as well as the United States in creating this assistance coordination format.
Recall that the United Kingdom will transfer at least 120,000 drones to Ukraine this year . This is the largest package of drones from London during the entire period of the full-scale war.
