Blackout in Europe: Czech Republic experiences major power outages

A large-scale power outage occurred in the Czech Republic, including parts of Prague and a number of other regions without electricity.

This was reported by the iRozhlas publication.

It is noted that the power outage affected four districts of Prague and some other cities in the Czech Republic.

As clarified by the mayor of the Czech capital, Bohuslav Svoboda, the blackout is related to a serious problem in the electricity transmission system.

“According to the information currently available, there is likely to have been a system frequency failure and a shutdown of the Chodov and Malešice substations. Prague is currently supplied only through the Ržeporie substation,” he added.

Due to a serious failure, traffic in Prague has been partially halted. It is currently unknown when it will be restored.

Recall that in April, a large-scale failure occurred in the European power system , which led to a massive power outage in Spain, Portugal, and part of France.
