Blizzards, wind and ice: forecasters declared January 9 a dangerous day
Difficult weather conditions are expected in Ukraine tomorrow, January 9. Forecasters are warning of blizzards, gale-force winds, and ice.
This was reported to the State Emergency Service.
In particular, heavy snow and blizzards are forecast in Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.
Rain with sleet is expected in Zaporizhia, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In addition, in the western, northern, southern and central regions, according to weather forecasters, there will be blizzards and stormy winds, the speed of which will reach up to 20 m/s.
Also, the roads in most regions will be very slippery. The State Emergency Service informed about the announcement of the I level of danger.
“Drivers and pedestrians, be as careful as possible! Due to strong winds and ice, the situation on the roads can be critical. Plan your trips in advance. Or better yet, if possible, don’t go anywhere!” the State Emergency Service urged.
We remind you that there is a risk of traffic disruption on the roads of the Transcarpathian region if the intensity of precipitation does not decrease in the coming hours.
By the way, due to the consequences of the bad weather , many settlements in the Transcarpathian, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions have been completely or partially without electricity .
