Bodies of 1,000 Victims Returned to Ukraine

As a result of repatriation activities, the bodies of another 1,000 victims were returned to Ukraine.
This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
It is noted that, according to the Russian side, the bodies belong to Ukrainian citizens, in particular, military personnel.
It is reported that law enforcement investigators, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.
“The bodies were returned as a result of joint work by the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons under the Security Service of Ukraine,” the coordination headquarters reported.
Earlier, Interior Minister Igor Klymenko said that Ukraine would need 14 months to identify the bodies of deceased Ukrainian citizens handed over by the Russian Federation .
