The eleventh congress of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League was held in Pyongyang, during which North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called on young people to support state policies and the country’s military goals. North Korea also linked the loyalty of young people to the DPRK’s participation in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency.
During the event, Kim Jong-un met with delegates from the ruling party’s youth league and said that youth are the “vanguard” in advancing state goals.
The North Korean leader said the Socialist Patriotic Youth League should remain a key force in carrying out the party’s tasks. He also called on representatives from various provinces to strengthen organizational work and ideological discipline.
During the congress, the DPRK authorities called youth the main tool for both internal mobilization and support for Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Journalists report that the Workers’ Party of Korea’s letter to congress participants referred to young soldiers being sent on overseas operations.
“Young soldiers sent to foreign operations have become bombs and flames to protect the country’s honor,” the party’s letter says.
By the way, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang participated in the ceremony for the completion of a new residential area for the families of soldiers who died during overseas military operations . The new complex, he said, should become a symbol of honoring the fallen soldiers.
It was previously reported that North Korean troops continue to participate in Russia’s war against Ukraine on the side of the aggressor country . As of January 2026, units of the North Korean army are in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, from where they carry out attacks on border communities in Ukraine.
