Booking changes: who can benefit from postponements

Starting in January 2026, some Ukrainians may lose their reservation for mobilization due to changes in wage requirements. If the employer does not pay the employee the required amount for December 2025, the reservation may be canceled.

This is reported by the publication “Accountant 911”.

The changes are related to the increase in the minimum wage. In the State Budget for 2026, the minimum wage was increased from 8,000 to 8,647 hryvnias, and the new rate will come into effect on January 1.

One of the key conditions for booking is that the employee earns at least 2.5 times the minimum wage. Accordingly, the income requirements are as follows:

• in December 2025 – at least 20,000 hryvnias;

• from January 2026 – from 21,617.50 hryvnia.

Experts point out that it is the date of salary accrual that is crucial, not its actual payment. If December’s salary is accrued in January, this will not count towards confirming the booking.

It is also noted that this is a “gross” salary. This amount may include not only the salary, but also bonuses, allowances, and other payments that belong to the payroll fund.

Failure to comply with this requirement may be grounds for cancellation of mobilization reservation.

As previously reported, updated rules for booking employees of critical enterprises will come into effect in Ukraine on December 4.

As a reminder, the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FRU) appealed to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the Ministry of Economy with a proposal to update the mechanism for reserving military personnel.
