In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the occupation administration uses children’s summer camps to spread Russian historical propaganda. During classes, children are forced to believe that modern Russia is the direct heir to Kyivan Rus.

This is reported by the Center for National Resistance.

It is noted that in children’s summer camps in the temporarily occupied territories, schoolchildren are given lectures, thematic meetings, and “historical” conversations dedicated to the Baptism of Rus. During these events, the Russian version of history is imposed on children, claiming that modern Russia is the direct heir to Kievan Rus.

The Center notes that in this way the occupation authorities are systematically replacing Ukrainian history with Russian propaganda narratives and deliberately distorting the role of Kyiv and Ukraine in the formation of Kyivan Rus.

According to the Center for National Resistance, the dissemination of such theses is part of an information campaign aimed at justifying the Russian invasion and occupation of Ukrainian territories. To do this, the occupation administration uses myths about alleged “historical unity” and “common origin”, trying to convince children that Russia has a historical right to Ukrainian lands.

It was previously reported that the Russians are systematically increasing their ideological influence on children in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine , focusing on training current and future teachers for propaganda work.
