In Kyiv, traffic on the bridges between the right and left banks of the Dnieper River has been changed after Russian attacks. The Southern Bridge is completely closed, and several other bridges have restrictions during the air raids.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The issue of transport connections between the banks was considered at a meeting of the Kyiv Defense Council with the participation of representatives of the city government, the military, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, law enforcement officers, and municipal services. The developed proposals for further organization of traffic are being submitted to central authorities.

The following restrictions are currently in effect:

  • South Bridge — completely closed to traffic in both directions;
  • Metro Bridge – during an air raid alert, traffic from the left to the right bank is partially restricted;
  • Paton Bridge – traffic is allowed, but during an alarm, the direction from the right to the left bank is limited;
  • North Bridge – operating, but during an alarm, movement from the right to the left bank is limited;
  • Podilskyi bridge crossing – during an alarm, traffic is limited from the right to the left bank, the bridge operates in reverse mode;
  • Darnytskyi Bridge – operates without restrictions.

“Currently, the city is taking measures to adapt traffic and related processes of the city’s life in view of the existing threats. The enemy is targeting the capital’s bridges connecting the left and right banks,” said Acting First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleyev.

The Southern Bridge remains completely closed to road traffic. Trains on the Syretsko-Pechersk, “green”, metro line also do not run through it.

According to Panteleev, the city is awaiting expert opinions from specialized scientific institutes regarding the possibility of further operation of the structure and the resumption of metro traffic.

At the same time, Vitaliy Klitschko stated that the Kyiv Metro is technically ready to resume train traffic on the Southern Bridge during the yellow threat level. This is possible only after receiving expert opinions on the condition of the bridge.

As a reminder, on the night of October 2, Russian troops again attacked the Southern Bridge in Kyiv . A 25-story residential building in the Darnytskyi district was also damaged as a result of the enemy strike.

As reported, due to the consequences of the night attack by Russian troops in Kyiv, traffic restrictions were introduced on the Southern Bridge, Paton Bridge, and Metro Bridge . At the same time, the traffic pattern at two crossings was changed during the morning.

By the way, in Kyiv, due to restrictions on traffic on bridges across the Dnieper, significant traffic jams formed on the morning of October 2. The most difficult situation was on the routes between the left and right banks, and taxi rides at this time became sharply more expensive.
