Britain and France join Geneva talks – media

Delegations from Great Britain and France are also in Geneva, Switzerland, where a new round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States started on February 17.

This was reported by “Suspilne” with reference to sources in the government circles of both countries.

According to interlocutors in diplomatic circles, Ukraine expects to hold a separate meeting with representatives of Great Britain, Germany, and France, as well as, presumably, the United States, following the results of the talks in Geneva.

Sources of “Public” confirmed the presence of the British and French delegations at the negotiating site.

Another round of trilateral consultations between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States is taking place in Geneva on February 17-18. This is the first time such talks are taking place in a European country. Previous meetings have been held in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Russian delegation is headed by Vladimir Medinsky, an assistant to the Russian president, who represented Moscow during previous rounds of negotiations.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian negotiating delegation has different approaches to a possible peaceful settlement with Russia through US mediation.

Recall that Ukraine and Russia will hold a new round of negotiations in Switzerland under the mediation of the United States, but the parties do not demonstrate a willingness to compromise on key issues of ending the war.
