Britain will disclose Storm Shadow technology to Ukraine for the production of long-range missiles.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said London would allow the declassification of data on British components of the Storm Shadow missile so that Ukraine could use this technology to develop its own production of long-range weapons.

He stated this during the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day on Sophia Square in Kyiv.

Britain will also work to help Ukraine stop Russian missiles before they are launched, rather than just intercepting them mid-air, Burnham said.

The British Prime Minister emphasized the need to strengthen sanctions against Russian supply chains, reduce Russia’s ability to finance war, and develop new defense technologies.

British defense company MBDA is expected to receive permission to disclose information about the British components of the Storm Shadow/SCALP missile. These missiles are based on shared British and French technologies.

Furthermore, the UK plans to assist France in establishing assembly lines for long-range SCALP missiles in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron previously announced an initiative to potentially produce such missiles directly in Ukraine.

Burnham stressed that London will continue to support Ukraine and will not retreat from this position until a just and lasting peace is achieved.

During his stay in Kyiv, the British Prime Minister also plans to attend a meeting of the “coalition of the willing,” which includes 34 countries. One of the key topics of the meeting will be strengthening Ukraine’s ability to counter Russian long-range strikes.

It was previously reported that the UK is developing new long-range missiles for Ukraine that will not contain American components and could enter service within a year. According to sources, the new systems will be cheaper than Storm Shadow missiles and will have a range of over 500 kilometers.
