Budanov commented for the first time on the mention of his name in the recordings related to the Mudra case.

Presidential Chief of Staff Kirill Budanov has commented for the first time on reports that his name was allegedly mentioned in wiretaps of his former deputy, Irina Mudra, who is suspected of corruption.

Budanov said this in a comment to hromadske .

Answering questions from journalists, he stated that the court should evaluate the content of the recordings.

“Let the court decide who’s making the sound. You know, we make a lot of sounds,” Budanov said.

At the same time, he confirmed that he had communicated with Irina Mudra after her dismissal, which occurred after she was charged.

According to Budanov, he does not believe it is right to deviate from the individual to the court’s final decision.

“I’ve never turned my back on people until there are definitive conclusions. Whether the court finds her guilty is another matter,” he explained.

Thus, Budanov effectively refrained from commenting on the content of the recordings and emphasized that the court should make the final assessment of the case.

It was previously reported that on August 21, the High Anti-Corruption Court selected preventive measures for former MP Maksym Nikitas and the head of Metrostroy PJSC, Valentyn Yelizarov, in the Forest Gump case. They were remanded in custody with the option to post bail: 30 million hryvnias for Nikitas and 20 million hryvnias for Yelizarov.

In addition, former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov called on President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to answer whether he knew about possible corruption among members of his inner circle.
