Budanov named possible dates for a new round of negotiations with Russia

The negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia is currently on pause, but there are plans to resume it. A new meeting of the parties may take place as early as September.

This was stated by the head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov, in a comment to the Novini.LIVE publication.

According to Budanov, they plan to “revive” the negotiation track in the near future. At the same time, he did not name a specific date for a possible meeting or its location.

The journalist directly asked the official whether this was a meeting of the Ukrainian and Russian negotiating delegations.

“I hope so, yes. Well, and American ones too. There’s no way without them,” Budanov replied.

Thus, if negotiations resume, a format involving Ukraine, Russia, and the US is expected. At the same time, Budanov’s words indicate the possibility of such a meeting, and not an already made decision to hold it.

The negotiation process between the parties had already been suspended earlier. The Ukrainian side emphasized the need to continue diplomatic contacts with the participation of the United States.

As a reminder, Ukraine, together with the US and the European Union, has developed a new peace initiative to end the war . The plan calls for a ceasefire, withdrawal of troops from the current front line, and security guarantees for Ukraine from NATO and the EU.

As reported, France, Germany and the United Kingdom are working on the format of future negotiations on Russia’s war against Ukraine . European countries want to guarantee their participation in the negotiations, even despite Moscow’s lack of readiness for serious dialogue.
