Budanov named scenarios for the end of the war in Ukraine: details

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, stated that it will not be possible to turn the Ukrainian authorities towards the Russian Federation now, therefore he rejected the Georgian scenario for ending the war.

He said this in an interview with journalist Natalia Moseychuk.

“As of now, this is impossible. Because even if someone wanted to turn now, say, towards Russia, it simply wouldn’t work. It’s impossible now. But the question is what will happen next,” Budanov emphasized.

In addition, he commented on four scenarios from JPMorgan Chase – Georgian, Korean, Israeli and Belarusian. The analysis states that the first is the most likely, it assumes that partners will refuse to support Ukraine, and then Kyiv will face instability.

However, the head of the GUR rejected such a development, noting that Ukrainian society would not be satisfied with such a scenario.

“The options of Belarus and Georgia are unlikely to satisfy our society. The options of Israelization or South Korea are probably better, but again, the issue is debatable,” he added.

Budanov urged not to perceive JPMorgan Chase’s analysis as dogma, but as possible options.

At the same time, he noted that now we need to think about how to live in the conditions in which Ukrainians find themselves now.

Recall that earlier, Kirill Budanov stated that a ceasefire on the Ukrainian-Russian front should be achieved in 2025 .
