Bukovel suffers blackout: resort operates on generators

The Bukovel ski resort has been partially powered by generators since yesterday following a massive attack on the Ukrainian power grid. This marks the first time since the disaster that the resort has experienced power outages.

Photos and videos have appeared on social media showing vacationers climbing to the top of the slopes on foot with skis and snowboards due to the temporary closure of the lifts.

The resort is currently operating partly on generators. A video of smoke appearing near one of the ski lifts has also circulated online. However, vacationers in chat rooms report that there was no fire, likely a generator overheating.
