Bus Accident in France Leaves Ukrainian Children Among the Dead and Injured
A major accident involving a Ukrainian bus occurred in France, leaving at least four people dead and injuring several children. The crash took place on June 13 on the Rennes–Le Mans highway, near the city of Le Mans.
According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the bus had Ukrainian registration and was transporting Ukrainian citizens, including a group of children. Representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy in France, including the ambassador, arrived at the scene.
At least four people were killed in the accident, and more than 30 others were injured — 11 of them in serious condition. All the victims were hospitalized. Traffic on the A81 freeway has been suspended, and emergency services are working at the scene.
According to Le Monde, approximately 87 firefighters and 49 emergency vehicles responded to the incident. The cause of the accident, the exact number of those involved, and the identities of the victims have not yet been disclosed.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha instructed the Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in France to keep the situation under special control and provide all necessary assistance to Ukrainian citizens.
