In Ukraine, over the past week, most vegetables have become significantly cheaper, while in the fruit and berry segment, there has been a mixed trend – some items have increased in price, while others, on the contrary, have become more affordable.
This is reported by EastFruit .
According to experts, vegetable prices have shown a downward trend. In particular, the following have become cheaper:
- white cabbage – from 9–20 UAH/kg to 5–20 UAH/kg,
- beetroot – from 8–10 UAH/kg to 5–10 UAH/kg,
- carrots – from 8–12 UAH/kg to 6–12 UAH/kg.
Red tomatoes now cost 12–40 UAH/kg instead of 12–55 UAH/kg. On the other hand, cucumbers have increased in price – from 15–30 UAH/kg to 20–40 UAH/kg.
A decrease is also observed in other positions:
- Belozerka pepper – from 25–40 UAH/kg to 25–35 UAH/kg,
- Beijing cabbage – from 30–35 UAH/kg to 25–35 UAH/kg,
- broccoli – from 40–70 UAH/kg to 40–55 UAH/kg.
Zucchini prices have been falling for the third week in a row and now cost 6–15 UAH/kg compared to the previous 10–17 UAH/kg.
There have also been changes to green products:
- green onions – from 100–180 UAH/kg to 70–150 UAH/kg,
- dill – from 70–150 UAH/kg to 70–120 UAH/kg,
- parsley has increased in price – from 40–100 UAH/kg to 60–105 UAH/kg,
- lettuce – from 30–75 UAH/kg to 30–85 UAH/kg.
In the fruit and berry segment, prices moved in both directions. The following became more expensive:
- peaches – from 50–100 UAH/kg to 50–120 UAH/kg,
- nectarines – from UAH 30–110/kg to UAH 35–140/kg,
- plums – from 18–35 UAH/kg to 20–50 UAH/kg,
- pears – from 15–90 UAH/kg to 20–90 UAH/kg.
Instead, the following became cheaper:
- grapes – from 50–140 UAH/kg to 40–120 UAH/kg,
- watermelons – from 13–25 UAH/kg to 10–17 UAH/kg,
- melons – from 25–55 UAH/kg to 20–55 UAH/kg.
Thus, the vegetable segment has become more profitable for buyers, while the fruit market has seen an increase in the cost of individual seasonal items.
