Canada is providing Ukraine with over 92 million hryvnias to strengthen cybersecurity as part of a new support package for the Tallinn Mechanism, an international initiative that brings together 12 countries to assist in the cyberspace.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The money will be used to protect critical infrastructure, combat hacker attacks, purchase equipment, and launch systems to detect and neutralize cyberattacks. Six projects have already been approved to receive funding, including the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the State Border Service, and the judicial administration.
The projects will be coordinated by CRDF Global, an organization that already has experience in implementing technical assistance in Ukraine. The Ministry of Digital Affairs emphasizes that cyberspace is another front, and such support makes it possible to maintain digital defense even during a full-scale war.
Recall that Canada will allocate $500 million for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine under the PURL program.
As reported, Canada has announced a new military aid package to Ukraine worth over 2 billion Canadian dollars . It includes the supply of armored vehicles, ammunition, air defense systems, drones, electronic warfare equipment, as well as financing joint defense projects and participation in international initiatives.
