Canada will join the FREYJA anti-ballistic missile program – Zelensky

Canada is ready to contribute its technologies to the European anti-ballistic missile program FREYJA. In addition, the country plans additional defense supplies to Ukraine.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

According to Zelensky, during the negotiations, the parties discussed in detail the financial stability of Ukraine in 2026 and 2027. Carney assured of Canada’s readiness to help find funding for the Ukrainian budget and military needs.

A separate topic was the constant Russian strikes with ballistic missiles and drones. Zelenskyy said that Canada is ready to join the European anti-ballistic missile program FREYJA with its own technologies.

Ukraine also expects additional defense supplies from Canada.

Zelensky and Carney discussed bilateral projects in the defense and economic spheres. In particular, the Ukrainian and Canadian teams are currently working on the Drone Deal.

The President expressed hope that the parties will be able to reach a full-fledged agreement in the near future.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a meeting dedicated to the Ukrainian Freya project, which involves the creation of a new air defense system, will be held in France in the near future .
