Next year, the Coalition for Mine Action Capabilities plans to allocate at least 165 million euros to provide Ukraine with technology and equipment.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
As noted, the relevant agreements were reached during the visit to Ukraine of the Coalition coordinator, representative of the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, Rolandas Kiškis.
The funds will be used to purchase mechanized demining vehicles, mine sweepers, remote demining systems, pickup trucks, metal detectors, night vision devices, explosive-resistant suits for sappers, and anti-drone equipment.
The department emphasized that the implementation of the plans will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities in the field of combat and humanitarian demining, as well as contribute to the faster clearing of territories from explosive objects and their return to economic use.
“In addition, international partners are accumulating additional resources to conduct specialized training, demining courses, and train Ukrainian specialists according to NATO and IMAS standards,” the report says.
As a reminder, Sweden announced the allocation of a new winter humanitarian aid package to Ukraine in the amount of 1.1 billion Swedish kronor, part of the funds will be directed to demining and restoration of mined territories .
