Channel 5 office suffers second Russian attack: studio and equipment damaged

On the night of July 6, the Russian army launched a massive combined strike on the territory of Ukraine. One of the targets of the attack was Kyiv. The studio and office of Channel 5 were damaged as a result of the shelling.

This was reported by the editor-in-chief of Channel 5 Iryna Gerasimova and the press service of the TV channel.

According to preliminary information, none of the employees were injured. At the same time, the building suffered significant damage. The studio was damaged, part of the filming equipment and editorial offices were destroyed.

Due to the consequences of the Russian attack, the channel is temporarily unable to broadcast live. However, Channel 5 continues to operate and broadcast on YouTube.

The TV channel reminded that the office had already been subjected to a Russian attack — this happened on July 10 last year.

“Workplace. My broadcast hours were supposed to be at this desk today from 12. The Channel 5 office has been attacked for the second time. Exactly a year ago, on July 10, we were already being attacked,” wrote TV presenter Anna Miroshnychenko.

It was previously reported that on the night of July 6, Russia launched a massive missile strike on Kyiv . The first reports of explosions appeared at around 2:00 a.m. The attack affected the Holosiivskyi, Podolskyi, Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi districts of the capital. There are dead and dozens injured.
