OpenAI has announced an update to ChatGPT, which will give all users unlimited chat with the GPT-5.6 Luna model. However, some advanced features will remain available only with a paid subscription.

OpenAI announced the lifting of text request limits for users of the free ChatGPT plan. Previously, they had a limit on the number of requests and were forced to economize on model requests.
According to the publication, the company hopes to attract more people to use artificial intelligence tools and obtain more data for further training of models.
At the same time, free users still have restrictions on a number of advanced features. In particular, working with large files, generating images, and using custom GPT agents remain paid.
GPT-5.6 Luna, as noted in the material, is focused on speed of answers, logical inferences and preserving the context of long dialogues. The model should also cope better with complex questions and everyday tasks, including information search and writing code.
Free users also cannot access bulk uploads and analysis of large files, active use of the DALL-E 3 image generator, and complex work with custom GPT agents. Access to these features requires a subscription costing $20 or 890 UAH.
The article also raises the issue of privacy. It notes that free users’ text chats may be used by default to train future versions of the models. Users who do not want to share their messages for training can change their privacy settings.
