Poland has announced Operation Horizon to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure after a railway explosion near Warsaw. 10,000 soldiers and security forces are taking part to control the most vulnerable areas.
This is reported by RMF24 .
The operation involves territorial defense forces, special forces, and cybersecurity units. The task is to control major railway lines and transport interchanges to prevent sabotage and other incidents.
The participants in the operation use reconnaissance drones and helicopters, which allows them to monitor hard-to-reach and critically important areas of infrastructure.
“The actions are targeted in nature – the military will be primarily located where the risk of attack is highest,” RMF24 noted.
Operation Horizon is a response to recent transportation incidents and is aimed at ensuring the safety of passenger and freight transportation across the country.
