In China, the People’s Liberation Army has opened new training facilities to train soldiers in the use of drones, robotic systems, and artificial intelligence. These include a college of unmanned and intelligent engineering, as well as two colleges for training non-commissioned officers.
This is reported byInteresting Engineering .
The new educational institutions should prepare technical personnel and officers who will be able to use modern technologies in future combat operations.
In particular, the College of Unmanned and Intelligent Engineering will train military personnel in drones, autonomous systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, sensors, and communications, as well as integrating these technologies into units.
The publication notes that Beijing is considering the creation of such institutions as part of a plan to modernize the People’s Liberation Army. China plans to fully modernize its armed forces by 2035 and create a world-class army by mid-century.
Two colleges have been established separately to train non-commissioned officers. The Combat Support College will train military personnel to work with combat systems, communications, engineering systems, electronic warfare, and reconnaissance equipment.
The Technical Support College will train specialists to service and maintain complex weapons, military equipment, drones, and electronic systems.
Another institution is the College of Discipline Inspection, Law and Politics at the National Defense University in Xi’an. Its activities will be related to the investigation of violations, compliance with military regulations and supervision of the activities of officers.
The creation of new colleges should provide the People’s Liberation Army of China with a constant stream of trained engineers, technicians, and officers to conduct combat operations with the extensive use of drones, sensors, robotic systems, and artificial intelligence.
Recall that China is transferring to Russia the latest drones with artificial intelligence , which can independently search for targets indoors. The drones are able to penetrate windows, wait for people to appear, and strike without the participation of an operator.
