China secretly trained Russian military for war against Ukraine – media

China secretly trained about 200 Russian military personnel in late 2025, who were later sent to war against Ukraine.

Reuters reports this, citing documents and European intelligence data.

According to the agency, Russia and China signed an agreement on secret military exercises in Beijing on July 2. Part of the training was dedicated to working with drones.

Russian military personnel also underwent training in electronic warfare, aviation, explosives handling, demining, shooting, and air defense.

The training took place at military bases in Beijing, Nanjing, and other cities in China.

Reuters notes that most of the Russians who received training were military instructors.

European intelligence has also identified several Russian military personnel who trained in China. After their return, they participated in fighting in the Zaporizhia region and launched drones from occupied Crimea.
