China unveils robot security guard who can do kung fu and lift cars
H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian
The Chinese company Unitree Robotics has introduced a new humanoid robot, the H2-X, which performs kung fu techniques and demonstrates its capabilities to protect and rescue people.
The company published the corresponding video on the social network X.
The new product is called the H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian. In the demo video, the robot punches and kicks, performs jumps and acrobatic tricks.
Separately, the developers showed the robot’s capabilities as a security guard. In one of the staged scenes, it confronts an attacker with a knife, and in another, it lifts the front of a car to free up space to save a person.
The humanoid also pushes the mannequin out of the car’s path and finds itself under its wheels.
According to Unitree, the H2-X has a maximum battery life of approximately eight hours. However, the video refers to the duration of operation in standing mode, not continuous performance of complex tasks.
The company has not yet announced the cost of the robot or the date of the start of sales. It is also unknown how independently it is able to act in real dangerous situations, since the episodes shown are demonstration ones.
