Chinese leader Xi Jinping has said he wants to see a peace deal on Ukraine that all sides see as fair. During Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Beijing, the leaders discussed the war and future cooperation between the countries.
This is reported by Bloomberg.
Macron asked China to influence Russia and help stop the war. He also warned against dividing the world into blocs. Xi Jinping called the talks with the French president frank and friendly and promised to expand cooperation in digital technologies, green industry and biopharmaceuticals.
Commenting on the Ukraine issue, Xi stressed that China seeks a constructive role in the settlement and wants the parties to sign a fair agreement. He also sharply criticized any accusations against Beijing, alluding to Western statements of support for Russia.
It was previously reported that Russian business is rapidly losing ground, while Chinese companies are easily taking over key markets.
Recall that expanded sanctions restrictions aimed at Chinese ports and oil refineries are significantly hindering the flow of Russian and Iranian oil to China , the largest consumer of “black gold” in the world.
