The Chonharsky Bridge in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region suffered critical damage after the strikes and is currently completely unusable for traffic.
This was stated by the commander of the First Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmitry Kotsiubayl, Dmitry “Perun” Filatov, on the air of “Social. Studio”.
According to him, the damage to the bridge is so serious that neither trucks nor cars can use it now.
“The Chongar Bridge has received critical damage. No transport is currently moving across it,” the military officer noted.
After losing this route, Russian troops began to look for alternative supply routes. In particular, the occupiers are trying to use pontoon crossings and have reoriented logistics through Armyansk.
However, according to Filatov, the Ukrainian military tracked these changes and struck along the new routes.
He said that after the damage to the Chongar bridge, the Russians concentrated a large number of trucks with fuel and ammunition in the Armyansk area. During one of the operations, Ukrainian units managed to hit this column.
“There were about 50 vehicles there. We destroyed some of them along with fuel and ammunition,” the commander said.
According to him, the joint control center created by the First Separate Assault Regiment and the 475th Assault Regiment helps to successfully conduct such operations.
Filatov also noted that strikes on logistics not only have an immediate effect, but also create problems for the Russian army in the future. The occupiers have to spend additional resources on restoring routes and looking for new supply routes.
He added that the blocking of logistics through Crimea was made possible thanks to the complex work of various Ukrainian units, which struck at supply routes in the Mariupol and Berdyansk areas.
According to the military, Ukrainian forces continue to work to complicate the provision of Russian troops in the southern direction.
As reported, drones of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces struck a bridge in the Chongar area , which connects temporarily occupied Crimea with the Kherson region. The attack damaged the bridge deck, causing the occupation authorities to temporarily block traffic.
As a reminder, the main route by which the Russian army transfers equipment and cargo to occupied Crimea and southern regions of Ukraine has effectively become a “road of death” due to constant attacks by Ukrainian drones. In recent weeks, the volume of transportation along this route has sharply decreased.
