Cold snap, rain and sleet: what will the weather be like in Ukraine in early November?

After an abnormally warm October, Ukraine is expected to experience a cooling in early November. The daytime temperature in most regions will drop to +5…+10 °C, and frost and wet snow are possible in the Carpathians. Rain is also forecast in some regions.

Forecaster Natalia Ptukha told about this in an interview with NV.

According to her, on November 1, the temperature at night will be +1…+6 °C, and in the south of the country the air will warm up to +10 °C. During the day, +5…+10 °C is expected in the western, northern and most central regions. It will be warmer in the south and southeast: +9…+14 °C.

In the Carpathians, the temperature during the day will fluctuate from -2 to +3 °C. There, precipitation in the form of wet snow is possible. In general, November 1 will be cloudy, with a cold northwest wind blowing.

Light rain is forecast in the western regions, as well as in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and Odessa regions.

Cool weather will persist in Ukraine throughout the month, and the first winter precipitation is possible in some regions.

Natalia Ptukha explained that already in the first decade of November, rain in some western regions may turn into snow. At the same time, the Ukrhydrometeorological Center will publish a more accurate forecast for such precipitation later.

“The weather will be cool, perhaps even with hints of winter. All this is typical of November – no surprises. Therefore, winter manifestations are quite likely,” the forecaster noted.

So, November may begin with a noticeable cold snap, and in mountainous areas and in the west of the country, the first signs of winter weather are possible.
