Cold snap to the point of snow: forecasters surprised with the nearest forecast

Forecasters predict that on September 20-21, Ukraine will experience dry and sunny weather with a comfortable air temperature of +24…+28 degrees. These days will be the last warm ones before a significant cold snap, which will begin on September 25-26.

This is stated in a post by weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.

Starting from September 25, the temperature in the country will drop sharply. In the western regions, especially in the Carpathian region, rain will gradually turn into wet snow, which indicates the beginning of the autumn-winter period. Although the cold snap will cover the entire territory of Ukraine, snowfall is expected only locally in the west.

The well-known weather forecaster emphasizes that there is no need to rush into dramatic headlines about “severe cold” or “snow disaster,” as such seasonal changes are a natural part of autumn weather. Forecasts will be updated daily.

By September 19, an anticyclone from the southwest will gradually displace rain from the territory of Ukraine, and sunny and dry weather will be established everywhere with temperatures of +19…+24 degrees.

Forecasters advise using the warm weekend to take walks outdoors, plan trips, or do household chores such as washing windows or cleaning.

Next weekend, September 27-28, will be colder and wetter. Rain is possible, so it’s worth preparing warm clothes, checking heaters, and taking care of your health, as a sharp change in temperature can provoke colds and other illnesses.

Overall, the change of seasons is just around the corner, but after a cold wave at the end of September, October will bring its traditional “Indian summer” with warmth and sunshine.

As a reminder, cool and rainy weather will remain in Ukraine on September 17–18, but temperatures will start to rise by the end of the week . Sunny and summer-like warm air is expected in many regions over the weekend — up to +27 degrees.

As reported, -2°C was recorded on the summit of Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi in the Ukrainian Carpathians on the morning of September 18.
