Collaborator and propagandist from Dnepr Kirill Vyshinsky dies in Moscow

Propagandist Kirill Vyshinsky, a native of Dnipro, who was suspected of treason in Ukraine in 2018, has died in Russia.

His death was reported by the RIA Novosti news agency, which noted that he died in Moscow after a serious and prolonged illness.

After the Revolution of Dignity, Vyshinsky headed the online publication RIA Novosti Ukraine, which is not officially registered in Ukraine. In 2014, he received awards from the Kremlin for his coverage of events in Crimea.

In May 2018, the SBU detained him in Kyiv on suspicion of treason and illegal handling of weapons. A year later, Vyshinsky renounced his Ukrainian citizenship, and in September 2019, he was transferred to Russia as part of a prisoner exchange.

After returning to Russia, he continued his propaganda activities, publicly supported a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and became Vladimir Putin’s trusted person in the pseudo-elections of 2024.
