A Russian agent was detained in the Donetsk region, who was spying on the homes of Ukrainian soldiers participating in combat operations on the front line.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU.
The enemy’s accomplice turned out to be a 54-year-old resident of the front-line village of Druzhkivka, recruited by the Russians. In accordance with instructions, she placed ads in local public forums about providing cleaning services.
In this way, she infiltrated the rented homes of servicemen, where she secretly photographed their documents and property. In addition, the suspect tried to learn about the combat positions and tasks of the defenders.
“The enemy needed the personal data and addresses of Ukrainian soldiers to prepare combat and recruitment operations,” the SBU explained.
She transferred the collected information to a specially created chatbot.
Security Service officers detained the woman at her residence and seized the phone used to collect and transmit data.
Investigators informed the detainee of suspicion of committing high treason under martial law. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Minister of Defense, exposed Russian intelligence agents who were spying on one of the enterprises of the defense-industrial complex in the Mykolaiv region.
