On March 17, the Princess of Wales — Kate Middleton — joined the Irish Guards parade on St. Patrick’s Day.
This is what People magazine writes about.
In accordance with tradition, the princess presented shamrock sprigs to officers and guardsmen, as well as to the regimental mascot, the Irish Wolfhound.
At the end of the event, Kate Middleton awarded military personnel with medals for long service and impeccable conduct and met with junior cadets from Northern Ireland.
After that, she visited the sergeant’s mess hall, where she joined members of the regiment and their families.
It is worth noting that Kate Middleton became Colonel of the Irish Guards in 2022 during the “reshuffle of the royal ranks.” After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, who served as Colonel of the Irish Guards, was appointed Colonel of the Welsh Guards, and the Princess of Wales took his place, becoming “Colonel Catherine.”
