Ukraine has submitted its own peace plan to the United States, which envisages Kyiv retaining control over all territories and includes security guarantees from the US and European partners. The document contains 20 points and is almost certain to be unacceptable to Moscow.

This is reported by The New York Times .

According to journalists, the Ukrainian plan consists of three blocks and covers post-war reconstruction, as well as commitments from the United States and European states to provide assistance to Kyiv in the event of repeated Russian aggression. The plan also includes the principle of NATO’s “open door”, although the United States may temporarily block Ukraine’s membership.

It is obvious that the document does not include the main points of the American peace plan, which Ukraine considers unacceptable.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that American negotiators are proposing to make changes to the plan, in particular, to create a “free economic zone” in the Donetsk region, where neither Ukrainian nor Russian troops will be present.

“I am skeptical about this idea, because it does not provide for the withdrawal of occupation forces,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

The Ukrainian side seeks to provide mandatory security guarantees and maintain full control over its own territories so that any compromises do not threaten the sovereignty of the state.

By the way, the Russian dictator’s aide Yuri Ushakov has allowed the withdrawal of Russian occupation troops from Donbas and their replacement by the Russian Guard . He noted that this would be part of a “demilitarized zone” where Ukrainian and Russian troops would not remain.

It was previously reported thatUkraine is considering withdrawing troops from Donbas , but only if Russia takes a similar step. This approach involves preserving the territory for Ukraine and parallel negotiations on security guarantees.

The day before, it became known that Russia refused to accept the 28-point peace plan proposed by the United States , which included conditions for freezing the front line, control over the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, and security guarantees for Ukraine. The Kremlin rejected seven key provisions, emphasizing its own demands for territories and the future security architecture.
