As of January 29, hundreds of settlements in several regions were left without electricity due to Russian shelling of the Ukrainian power system and the consequences of bad weather.

This was reported by Ukrenergo.

In particular, due to difficult weather conditions – accumulation of wet snow and ice – 531 settlements were without electricity. These are cities and villages in Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Odesa, Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

Currently, regional energy company crews are carrying out emergency repair work on damaged lines, eliminating the effects of the weather.

In addition, Russian troops struck energy infrastructure facilities, resulting in power outages in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia regions.

Due to hostile attacks, hourly outage schedules are in effect for residential consumers in all regions, and in some places, emergency power outages, and capacity limitation schedules are also in effect for industry and business.

Separately, Ukrenergo noted that electricity consumption increased today, in the morning the figure was 1.6% higher than at the same time on Wednesday. It is assumed that this is due to the reduction of restrictions in some regions.

“Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances as much as possible. If possible, postpone energy-intensive processes to night hours – after 11:00 p.m. Rational consumption of electricity will contribute to a shorter duration of forced power outages,” the message says.

As you know, after massive strikes on the energy sector and against the backdrop of frost,Kyiv is experiencing one of the most difficult winters in recent years : thousands of homes are without heat, and power outages remain unstable and difficult to predict.

By the way, Germany plans to transfer more than 30 mobile thermal power plants to Ukraine in the near future , which will provide electricity and heat for part of the population.
