The Foreign Ministers of Hungary and Slovakia called on the EU to guarantee the energy security of the union’s member states due to strikes on Russia.

This was reported in TA 3.

Slovak Foreign Minister Blanar stressed that any threat to Russian oil supplies is unacceptable. He also recalled that last time, supplies were stopped after shelling of the Druzhba oil pipeline, and then resumed after repairs.

“Previously, the European Commission stated that it is ready to protect our critical energy infrastructure, which includes oil pipelines, so we consider it absolutely necessary for the EU to defend the interests of member states and the energy security of its citizens,” the Foreign Minister said in a statement.

He added that any threat to Slovakia’s energy security is unacceptable.

It is worth noting that Ukrainian drones hit a strategic facility on Russian territory – an oil pumping station in the city of Unecha, Bryansk region . The facility is part of the Druzhba oil pipeline system.

As reported, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced that on August 19, the Druzhba oil pipeline, which had completely stopped operating due to attacks by Ukrainian drones, had resumed supplies.
