On Thursday, March 5, consumers in three regions were left without electricity due to Russian shelling of energy facilities and the proximity of hostilities.

This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov.

According to him, residents of three regions — Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhia — remain temporarily without power.

In regions where the security situation allows, specialists are already working to eliminate the consequences and restore power supply.

“Energy workers go to the facilities immediately after the alarms are cleared and do everything possible to restore power to homes, hospitals, schools, and enterprises as soon as possible,” the official emphasized.

Among other things, he reported that most regions have hourly outages for residential consumers and capacity limitation schedules for industry.

“Current schedules are posted on the official resources of regional distribution system operators. Find out about changes in energy supply on the pages of the regional energy authority of your region,” the Ministry of Energy urged.

Recall that the need for restoration and modernization of the energy sector for the next ten years is $90.6 billion . Compared to the previous estimate, this amount has increased by 34%.

As is known, Latvia will transfer a full-fledged thermal power plant to Ukraine as part of a new aid package to support energy infrastructure amid Russian strikes.
