The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court rejected Yulia Tymoshenko’s appeal for a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 33 million hryvnias.

This is reported by a correspondent of Suspilny from the courtroom.

At the same time, the court allowed Tymoshenko to communicate with people’s deputies and move freely within the territory of Ukraine.

During the hearing of the case, the politician’s lawyer stated that the court of first instance did not explain the “origin of the amount” of the bail and called the chosen preventive measure unfounded.

The prosecutor, for his part, requested that the bail amount be increased to 50 million hryvnias and that an electronic bracelet be applied to the suspect.

It was previously reported that bail was posted for MP Yulia Tymoshenko, who is suspected of corruption.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions to MP, head of the Batkivshchyna faction Yulia Tymoshenko. The investigation covers the facts of bribery to parliamentarians for supporting or blocking certain initiatives in the session hall. NABU also published audio recordings in the case of an alleged offer of an illegal benefit to MPs.
