COVID-19 cases are growing in Ukraine

From August 25 to 31, 10,622 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine, which is 46.2% more than the week before.

This was reported by the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

A week later, 14 deaths were recorded among patients with confirmed SARS-CoV-2.

At the same time, the incidence rate remains lower than in the past. In particular, 22,627 cases were identified in the period from August 4 to August 31, 2025, while for the same period in 2024 – 45,500.

The Ministry of Health predicts that the number of confirmed cases may increase in the coming weeks.

According to the sequencing results, three cases of infection with the Nimbus subvariant and 125 cases of Stratus have been identified in Ukraine. Both variants do not cause a more severe course of the disease.

The department reminds that vaccination remains the most effective protection against COVID-19 and is free in Ukraine.

Earlier, Kyiv recorded a rapid increase in hospitals due to COVID-19 . Over the course of a month, the number of patients in hospitals increased more than fourfold, a quarter of whom were children.
