Critical infrastructure will be able to receive air defense equipment: details

The government expanded the capabilities of object-specific protection of critical infrastructure enterprises and allowed them to be provided with additional weapons to strengthen air defense.

This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

The Cabinet of Ministers has made changes to the pilot project on involving enterprises in the state air defense system, which was approved in November 2025.

Critical infrastructure enterprises, regardless of ownership, can now create their own air defense groups. Qualification requirements will be introduced for their composition. Personnel will undergo training and certification in institutions designated by the Ministry of Defense.

The government also updated the procedure for inventorying, storing, accounting, and using air defense equipment and ammunition.

The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been granted the right to temporarily transfer air defense equipment and ammunition to enterprises based on an individual decision for each facility. This concerns weapons that are not currently used by combat units.

In the event of the use of ammunition, it will be replenished according to a simplified procedure based on an act of actual expenditure.

All decisions will be made under the control of the military command and within the framework of a unified air defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
