Declaration of an SPFU official: gold in Moscow and deposits in Luhansk region

An official of the State Property Fund declared five tons of gold bars worth billions of hryvnias, which he stores in Moscow.

This was reported by Ukrainian News, referring to the data from his electronic declaration.

Andriy Melnyk, Deputy Director of the Department of Lease and Management of State Property of the State Property Fund, indicated in his electronic declaration that he owns five tons of gold in bank bullion.

According to the declaration, it concerns gold of standard 999.9 in European standard bars. The total volume of the asset is 160,753.61 troy ounces, which is equivalent to 79.8 million euros. In hryvnia equivalent, the value of the declared gold reaches about 4 billion hryvnias.

The official noted that he stores the gold in the company “KITON 21ST CENTURY”, which is located in Moscow.

In addition, Melnyk declared billions of hryvnias in securities of the same company.

The declaration also states that the official owns 15 rare earth deposits in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region, including assets related to the Krasnodonugol coal mining company. He estimated one of the deposits at 1.5 billion euros.

At the same time, the annual salary of an official in 2024 was 1 million hryvnia.

As previously reported, NABU and SAPO have completed a pre-trial investigation into the case of the former head of one of the Central Territorial Departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He is suspected of receiving illegal benefits for assisting in winning a competition to build housing for the military in Kyiv.

As a reminder, in Kyiv, law enforcement officers reported suspicions against the deputy chief engineer of one of the capital’s universities in the case of illegal appropriation of budget funds allocated for the repair of shelters in student dormitories.
