On the night of October 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched strikes on Russian regions, hitting a number of strategic military-industrial complex facilities.

This was reported by the press service of the General Staff.

In particular, the Novospassky oil refinery in the Ulyanovsk region came under attack. Its activities are focused on the primary processing of hydrocarbons, the volume of which is 600 thousand tons of oil per year – 0.2% of total Russian processing.

The plant supplies fuel to domestic consumers in the Russian Federation and also exports petroleum products.

Another refinery was also hit — the Mariysk refinery in the Republic of Mari El. The enterprise is equipped with two primary oil refining units and one vacuum fuel oil refining unit.

The Mari Refinery meets the domestic needs of the Volga Federal District. Its design capacity is 1.3 million tons per year, which is 0.5% of all Russian refining.

Both oil refineries are involved in providing security for the occupation army. Explosions and fires were recorded on the territories of the facilities. The results of the attacks are currently being clarified.

In addition, the Defense Forces, using drones, struck the Budennovsk gas processing plant, whose design capacity is 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

The strike drones were recorded hitting the GPU-1 production facility.

According to the General Staff, the gas processing plant supplies gas to a number of enterprises in the region and is a source of raw materials for the petrochemical industry.

It is emphasized that strikes on three Russian factories will affect the capabilities of the Russian army, reducing its ability to conduct combat operations.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to implement measures aimed at stopping the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” the department summarized.

As a reminder, on the night of October 29 , a number of regions of Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea were subjected to a massive drone attack . Oil refineries, chemical plants, and energy facilities were hit.
