On the night of November 3, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Saratov Oil Refinery and a number of logistics facilities in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk Oblast.
This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the agency, on the night of November 3, Ukrainian units struck the Saratov Oil Refinery in the Saratov Oblast of the Russian Federation. The facility was hit and a fire was reported in the area of the ELOU-AVT-6 oil refining complex.
In addition, the Defense Forces inflicted fire damage on logistical facilities of Russian troops in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. In particular, a material and technical equipment warehouse in the settlement of Rozkishne and a mobile fuel and lubricants warehouse in Dovzhansk were destroyed.
The General Staff noted that the Defense Forces are consistently implementing a set of measures to destroy critical elements of the military-industrial base of the terrorist state in order to deprive it of the ability to continue aggression.
The Saratov Oil Refinery (RF) is one of the oldest enterprises in the Russian oil industry. It is located in the city of Saratov and belongs to Rosneft. According to open data, in 2023 the enterprise processed about four point eight tenths of a million tons of oil per year. The plant ensures the production of gasoline, diesel fuel and other petroleum products, which are used, in particular, for the needs of the Russian armed forces.
The ELOU-AVT-6 unit , which was hit, is a technological unit for primary oil processing. It performs the functions of dehydration, desalination and further distillation of raw materials, from which the main fuel fractions are obtained. Damage to this complex could lead to a partial shutdown of production and a decrease in processing capacity.
The logistics depot in Rozkishne was used by the occupation forces to store ammunition, technical property, and equipment. Its destruction reduces the ability of Russian troops to maintain logistics in the direction of hostilities.
The mobile fuel depot in Dovzhansk is a railway or automobile fuel reserve that ensures the transportation of resources to units of the Russian army. The destruction of these reserves makes it difficult to provide enemy equipment and transport with fuel.
According to analysts, strikes on such facilities significantly affect Russia’s ability to maintain military logistics and supply its military formations.
By the way, on the night of October 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched strikes on Russian regions, hitting a number of strategic military-industrial complex facilities .
As a reminder, on the night of October 29 , a number of regions of Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea were subjected to a massive drone attack . Oil refineries, chemical plants, and energy facilities were hit.
