Defense forces hit one of Russia’s largest petrochemical plants

Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck the Tobolskneftekhim petrochemical complex in the Tyumen region of Russia. The Ukrainian military confirmed the destruction of the enterprise’s central gas fractionation unit.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The strike on the enterprise in Tobolsk was carried out on August 10 as part of operations to reduce Russia’s military-economic potential.
According to the General Staff, the Defense Forces struck the plant’s central gas fractionation unit. Its capacity is about 6.6 million tons of raw materials per year.
This installation is part of the production complex of one of the largest petrochemical enterprises in Russia and Europe.
Tobolskneftekhim produces raw materials used by the Russian military-industrial complex. In particular, the company produces butadiene, isobutylene, maleic anhydride, and MTBE, a high-octane oxygenate additive.
The company’s products are used to produce rocket fuel components, aviation fuel, composite materials for drones, and high-octane gasoline.
The General Staff noted that the extent of the damage after the strike is currently being clarified.
As a reminder, on the night of August 10, drones attacked Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan , where one of Russia’s largest oil refining complexes is located. After the attack, information appeared about fires at the facility.
