Ukrainian Defense Forces Strike One of Russia’s Largest Refineries Again, Fire Erupts on Site

On the night of November 20, Ukrainian Defense Forces launched repeated strikes on one of Russia’s oil refineries and targeted enemy personnel in occupied territory. The attacks caused a fire at the refinery and inflicted damage on enemy positions, according to military reports.

The General Staff was reported.

As part of a campaign to reduce the capabilities of the Russian army, the Ukrainian military inflicted another fire-related strike on the Ryazan Oil Refinery.

A target within the refinery’s territory was hit, causing a fire in the area of the secondary oil processing facilities. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

The General Staff noted that the Ryazan Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, with a design capacity of 17.1 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise produces various types of gasoline, diesel, TS-1 jet fuel, liquefied gases, and other petroleum products. On average, it produces 840,000 tons of aviation kerosene annually.

The Ryazan Oil Refinery helps supply fuel to the Russian occupying army’s aerospace forces.

In addition, the Ukrainian military targeted concentrations of enemy personnel in the temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk region. Information regarding Russian army losses is still being established.

“The Defense Forces continue to take measures to undermine the military-economic potential of the Russian occupiers, disrupt fuel and ammunition supplies to the invading army, and force the Russian Federation to cease armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff emphasized.

Previously, residents of Ryazan reported at least ten powerful explosions near the plant.

As reported, Ukrainian drones attacked the energy system in the occupied part of the Donetsk region.
